A Bunch of 'Net Stuff
Today I just wanted to share several things from the internet with you that may be of some interest.
First, in case you haven’t heard, Christian Courier has acknowledged the reason for their delay in posting articles. They are doing some work on their technology and it is taking longer than expected. To read their explanation, click here.
Also, if you haven’t heard of MySpace.com by now, you are getting ready to. A young lady from Michigan recently met a man from the Middle East on the website and flew to meet him. The young lady was just 16 years old. To read the Fox News release, you may click here. Parents, if you are unfamiliar with MySpace.com, you need to read the Christian Courier article found here. Is everyone on MySpace.com a predator? Of course not. But it is a website that parents need to know something about before they allow their child to simply visit it whenever–unsupervised.
Finally, there has been another case of a teacher having sex with a student. This time the awful crime happened in the Northern Texas town of Lewisville. What makes this story different from some of the other cases is that the student was 18; making him a legal candidate for sexual relations in the state. However, there is a law on the books that makes it illegal to have sexual intercourse with a student if you are a teacher, no matter the student’s age. The crime, though, is much less severe than statutory rape. Please read the MSNBC report (from KXAS-TV in Dallas) by clicking here.
Now that we have returned from Maywood Christian Camp and are back in the “news loop,” we hope to be able to share more interesting items to help keep you informed. Thank you for your understanding while we were away to camp.
