A Few Announcements at Week's End

This will be the last post for about a week. With that in mind, I thought I’d bring a few things to your attention.

  1. My family will be attending the Freed-Hardeman University lectureship next week. We are excited to be attending. (I am grateful for an eldership that allows Andy and I both to be away for a few days to learn these great lessons.) If you have an opportunity, attend at least one day. The theme this year is “A Call to Faithfulness: Better Things in Hebrews.” You may find more information, including a complete schedule, by clicking here. Also, by clicking that link, you can find a connection to listen to all lectures delivered in Loyd Auditorium, starting Sunday night with a good family friend, Todd Walker, leading congregational singing at 6:45.
  2. The second issue of the newsletter “By Youth Ministers, For Youth Ministers” was sent out last week, but we had several returned e-mails. If you did not get a copy, please email Kurt Hankins with your correct email address. You may reach brother Hankins at kurt@vernon-churchofchrist.org. The newsletter is being very well received, and will be promoted at the FHU lectures on the display table for Maywood Christian Camp. A huge thank you to Jeff Goff for allowing us to display the newsletter there.
  3. Read Drew’s Blog today. He has a great article about the controversy surrounding the Danish cartoons of Muhammad. Take a moment and read his article. As always, great job, Drew!
  4. IN OTHER NEWS…Mary Carol is starting to eat rice cereal! She tried it Wednesday, and now she’s getting the hang of it. It’s hard to believe that she will be four months old on Tuesday. Let us take a moment and say “thank you” for all your prayers for her as she grows.
  5. FINALLY…Leah and I have started selling some products for a company called Young Living. (No, we’re not going to stop working with the church. Our goal is to make enough to help pay off the loan for Mary Carol’s adoption!) The company sells all natural health and beauty aid products. For more information, visit www.youngliving.com, or email us at adlefaughn@lycos.com. If you decide to purchase anything, or if you would like to “join the work force,” please contact us, so we can get credit for the purchase.

With a week away from the blog, hopefully we will have time to come up with some great article ideas for the next few weeks. Thank you for reading often. We are over 350 hits in about 6 weeks. That’s a great number, and we appreciate it. Have a great week!
