Book Review: "A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23" by Phillip Keller
What a delightful little book! Sometimes the best things do, in fact, come in small packages.
Millions over the years have been moved and touched by the words of the 23rd Psalm, and for good reason. So many, though, do not truly understand the deeper meaning of what they are reading. In our modern society, most of us know very little about raising sheep. David, however, knew all about it, and his knowledge and experience shines through in this beloved Psalm.
Phillip Keller, a former shepherd, brings new light on the poem by David and does so in such a way that anyone can understand it better. It has truly been a delight to read this book and learn so much about the intricasies of Psalm 23.
There are some weaknesses in the book, but an aware Bible student will readily catch these. Overall, this book is a great read and filled with information that is helpful.
The price of the book is just $4.99, but Christian Book Distributors has it for only $3.99. Sometimes, as I did, you can even get it cheaper than that from them. Even if you pay full price, you will wonder how this book is so inexpensive.
