Book Review: "Have You Ever Considered?" by Jim Faughn

If you have been reading posts on our blog for very long, you have read an article or two by my dad, Jim Faughn. Many of you also receive the bulletin from the Central church of Christ in Paducah, Kentucky, where he preaches. You know of his talent for writing and putting ideas across that make you think.

Now, you can enjoy several of those articles in his first book, entitled “Have You Ever Considered?” While living in Dexter, Missouri, brother Faughn (or, brother Dad, as I like to call him) hosted a 90-second radio spot and always began each broadcast with that question. This book contains several of those radio spots, many bulletin articles and some original material.

If you enjoy reading short articles that will cause you to think, this book is for you. It is also a good read for preachers looking for sermon starters or illustrative material. The book would also serve a family well who is looking for material for devotionals in their home.

The book is 159 pages in length and costs $10. All profits from the sale of the book go to help support the Hensley scholarship to Freed-Hardeman University. This scholarship is awarded each year to a student from Western Kentucky who is going to FHU for a Bible major. So, besides great reading, you will be helping a worthy cause.
