Book Review: The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership (10th Anniversary Edition)
If you have read the original 21 Irrefutable Laws, you need to find the 10th Anniversary edition and read it. John Maxwell jokes in the introduction that, even though these laws are “irrefutable,” a couple of major changes have been made since the original printing. Also, many new illustrations have been added, including a couple dealing with Maxwell and his work.
I tried to read 21 with a view toward the local congregation. Obviously, a person in any leadership position would benefit greatly from this work. It is a quick, easy read, but contains some profound truths. Deep down, I believe that most of us know the major sections of this work, but putting them into practice is a different matter entirely. For help with that, Maxwell includes an application section at the end of each chapter.
I am writing a very brief review, because I hope to read this book again in the near future and actually review each chapter with a view toward the church. This might even make a decent Bible school study (just a thought). Be looking for that blog series.
21 has been read by over a million people, and most of you have probably read it. If not, pick up a copy and digest it. Whether you are leader in the business world, the church, or in the home, you will benefit greatly from this volume.
