Lebanon Road Report: March 15
We continue to be “hit” by seasonal illnesses, and that hurt our attendance again. However, (Lebanon Road folks, are you reading???), we also don’t need to use that as our only excuse! We have a lot of work to do, and we don’t need to rest! While we were down a bit in our attendance from normal, we were up from last week, so maybe we are starting to get these “bugs” out of our system! We had 330 in worship yesterday morning. That being said, we still had a very uplifting day of worship. I was reminded again of how loving Lebanon Road is with the comments on both…

Friday Links Roundup: LOOOONG Games Edition
Well, I’ve watched one in every favorite sport now. Yes, I’ve lost some sleep in my life watching some long games, but it has been worth it. The strategy, fortitude, and excitement that surrounds games that go to multiple extra “sessions” is what sports fans love. I watched when the Flyers and Penguins played into the fifth overtime of a playoff game in 2000. Keith Primeau finally sent us to bed around 2:30 in the morning. I watched the Braves-Astros National League divisional game that lasted 18 innings and caused the Houston Chronicle to have to post an article that the game hadn’t ended! Chris Burke (remember him?) finally hit…

Lebanon Road Report: March 8
Whatever is “going around” found its way to our membership! Our numbers were way down yesterday, and most of it was due to sickness. We are praying that folks get well quickly, but we also have more work to do besides getting over illnesses. As usual, we were blessed with a good number of visitors. It was good to see some college buddies, Mike and Heather, visiting with us yesterday. Heather’s brother Stephen is a member at Lebanon Road, and it was fun to have them with us. We were down to 315 yesterday morning. While that’s down, it should motivate us to work hard inviting friends and neighbors. We…

Friday Links Roundup: WYS Edition
Sunday night, Lebanon Road will be honored to host the area-wide Winter Youth Series. Around 200 young people from all over the Nashville metro area will be in attendance, and we look forward to a huge crowd. We would love to have you with us at 6:00 for the evening, when our young men will lead the service. That will be followed by a period of fellowship and food. Can we have 500 on Sunday night? It’s not out of the question. With your help, we can do it! I’m truly looking forward to the evening of worshiping God with such special young people. I hope to see you there.…

Tech Posts 2: Podcasts
[This is part 2 of our 3-part mini-series on tech tools I use. To see yesterday’s post, click here. It dealt with applications for my iPhone.] A few months ago, I ran a short series about podcasts to which I listen. At the time, I was still deciding which ones I enjoyed and which I needed to end. Since then, I have really settled into a pattern, and have found a list of podcasts I keep subscriptions open to. Following is a list of the podcasts, and a very brief overview of the content. I decided to divide the podcasts up into how often they are produced, so you might…

Tech Post 1: iPhone Apps
[For the next three days, I’m planning a mini-series on the tech stuff I use for my life and work. I hope you will find these brief “mini-reviews” helpful as you try to use the power of technology to help you in several areas.]If you read this blog often, you know that I love my iPhone. When I bought it almost exactly one year ago, many said it was nothing more than a glorified toy. I have made sure it is far more than that, though, as I use it for nearly everything. Today, I want to share with you the applications I currently have on my phone (besides those…

Lebanon Road Report: March 1
I would have trouble thinking of a better day! We had a little bit of everything on Sunday, including the greatest news we could ever pass along (more about that in a few moments). We had a large group travel to Gatlinburg for the annual Challenge Youth Conference over the weekend. Still, were blessed to have over 300 “in house” on Sunday morning, meaning our total attendance was really good. We had 306 present, but we also had 54 in Gatlinburg, so we totaled 360 yesterday morning! After a couple of weeks with our attendance being down a bit, that was truly exciting. It was good also, considering it was…

Friday Links Roundup: Help Us Stay in the 300s Edition
We are going to have a ton of folks away this weekend to the annual Challenge Youth Conference in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This weekend will be so encouraging and educational for our young people and the adults going with them. I don’t know the final numbers, but between 40 and 50 will be there from Lebanon Road. With them being gone, we need your help! We want to still have over 300 in attendance Sunday morning. We have been running right at 345 the past few weeks, so we are going to be right on “the line” with our group being away. Help us have a “regular” attendance Sunday, and then,…
