Friday Links Roundup: 2 Weeks Worth…and One Day Early Edition
We didn’t get to do the roundup last week, and now we are doing it a day early. Are you confused yet?
My son, Turner, was scheduled to have surgery on his tear duct last Friday, and then I was supposed to go to Missouri for the annual Dexter Youth Rally. Both were cancelled! Turner got an ear infection with fever, so his surgery was postponed until tomorrow. That’s why we’re doing this today.
So, here are several links from the past two weeks.
1. Preaching Help writes a short article based upon a survey which found that 44% of Americans are leaving the denomination of their childhood. Read his thoughts here.
2. Are people interested in the message we have to teach? Read Phil Sanders’ thoughts here.
3. People want God to help them immediately, but God doesn’t always work that way. Read “God Isn’t Instant Pudding” from Patrick Mead.
4. We all have sickness and illness sometimes, but are there things to learn in those times? Wayne Jackson thinks so. Check out this article from Christian Courier.
5. Two from Kevin Beard. First, Kevin takes a look at Cardinal’s player Scott Spezio and some lessons from his recent troubles. Read “Sin Holds on Tight.”
6. Next Kevin notices some things to learn from a very disturbing statistic. Read “1 in 4 Teenage Girls.”
7. Here’s a new blog. Jeff Goff, administrator of Maywood Christian Camp, has begun a blog dealing with the camp. Check out the first post here.
8. Trying to find the “right” type of religion? Is it pre-denominational? Anti-denominational? What exactly is it? Read Dale Jenkins’ thoughts here, and make sure you take a stroll through the comments as well.
9. Finally, Michael Jackson points us to a very exciting new tool for Bible students who use the internet.
I hope you have a great weekend. Next week is the annual Lads to Leaders National Convention, so my posting may be a bit different, but, we’ll see.
Don’t forget the Lord on His day.
