Friday Links Roundup: 31 Edition
Today is my 31st birthday. Over on Facebook, I have been overwhelmed by the number of happy birthday wishes I have received. They started “trickling in” earlier this week (including one from my buddy James, who works for the Lord in China), but they have flowed today. They have come from all over the place; from Nashville to India (thanks to my Sonshine Singer friend Ricky!).
Birthdays are fun, but they also remind us that we only have so much time to serve. There is so much I wish to accomplish in the service of the Lord, and I pray daily that I will do my best with whatever time I have.
On to this week’s links:
1. Steve Higginbotham gives us a spiritual lesson from John McCain’s speech in which he said he was “not [his] own man anymore.”
2. Are we cold to the world? Maybe “numb” is a better word. Paula Harrington writes a tremendous (alliterated!) post with a great title: “Comfortably Numb.”
3. Nehemiah is one of my heroes. He once prayed to the Lord, “Strengthen my hands.” Becky Welch uses that phrase to show some areas in which she asks the Lord to strengthen her hands as well. It’s a great prayer idea.
4. One money post. JD over at Get Rich Slowly gives us 13 tools to building a better budget. I think this is a great list.
I hope you have a great weekend. Don’t forget the Lord on His day!
