Friday Links Roundup: April Showers Bring… Edition

As we drove home yesterday from a good meeting in Mount Vernon, Illinois, Leah became more and more excited. She knew it was about time for her irises to be blooming in the back yard. While our weather has been a bit strange over the past few weeks, Leah was right. The flowers are up and looking great!

We had a good trip to Murray and Mount Vernon. I have a few pictures I’ll be posting on here later of some of the activities. [For those who get the email updates, I won’t be sending one out for those posts, but they should be up later today and/or tomorrow.]

1. The word “gospel” is one of those words we throw around and rarely take the time to define. Phil Sanders shares some thoughts on the word in a great post to build a devotional or sermon around.

2. I use First Peter 5:8 very often. I think it is a verse that Christians (and non-Christians) need to keep in mind as they face temptation daily. Richard Mansel writes a powerful post about Satan using this verse. Read “Satan: Hiding in Plain Sight.”

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. We are looking forward to the summer and plans are well underway for many summer activities. Pray that the “final” plans go well and that many are won for the Lord and encouraged by our effort.
