Friday Links Roundup: First Gospel Meeting in October Edition

This is one of “those” months. I have two Gospel Meetings scheduled. I’m looking forward to both very much, but it will be a taxing time.

The first is in Paducah, Kentucky, and begins on Sunday. (Scroll down to the next post for details.) If you cannot attend, please pray for this effort. I truly think this will be a good opportunity for the Central church of Christ, and I look forward to preaching with Jeremiah.

On to the links for this week:

1. When something bad occurs and “Christians” are around, they will be blamed. But are Christians to blame for any bad thing? What about wars? Dwight Whitsett explores this question.

2. Elders need all the encouragement they can get, but they also need to be reminded of the importance of their work. Neil Richey does a great job with this balance in “What Would You Find in an Elder’s Toolbox?

3. One very helpful financial link. No Credit Needed links to a calculator that tells you how much it really costs to take a trip. A very eye-opening link, indeed, for those “weekend” travelers.

I hope you have a great weekend. If you are near Paducah, come by Central and join us for the meeting. If you are near Nashville, pay Lebanon Road a visit. No matter where you are, don’t forget the Lord on His day.
