Friday Links Roundup: Friends & Family Day Edition
I know this is news to you, but Sunday is Friends and Family Day at the Lebanon Road church of Christ. If you read this blog much, you know that this is something we have been planning for over the past weeks and months. It is truly going to be a special day. Our goal is to have 501 in attendance. As an optimist, I really think we will hit and exceed that number. If you possibly can, I hope you will help us with this great day.
Here’s the schedule:
9:00 AM: Worship
10:20 AM: Bible Classes for all ages
11:15 AM: Lunch on the grounds (we’ve rented a huge tent to set up in back of the building)
6:00 PM: Worship
If you can’t be with us, please pray for this day. We hope to have many visitors who are not members of the Lord’s Church https://www.abclocksmiths.org/, and this will be a tremendous opportunity to share the truth with them. The sermon for Sunday morning is entitled, “The Greatest Friend You’ll Ever Know.”
On to the links for this week:
1. Several weeks ago, one of our links was of a video discussing the ESV Study Bible. Now, more videos about this great resource are available. Click here for all the short videos.
2. My college friend Dale Sadler works as a school counselor and minister. He writes a brief but insightful article called “Anger: The Natural Response.”
3. With political correctness running amok, it (sadly) comes as no surprise that some denominational leaders are calling for churches to apologize to Charles Darwin! Albert Mohler writes a response.
4. It has been a joy and an honor to have several articles published in THINK Magazine, published by Focus Press. In spite of my articles, the magazine is tremendous. Read Steve Higginbotham’s words about the publication and the new teen magazine, Ignite (which is also very, very good).
5. Want to get out of debt faster? Having trouble deciding on something to cut out? The Simple Dollar provides a very interesting solution (take time to really think about the “math” Trent uses to prove that this works).
I hope you have a great weekend. Just in case you need a little more motivation to come to Friends and Family Day, here is a link to directions to the church building.
No matter where you are, don’t forget the Lord on His day.
