Friday Links Roundup: HUGE Cheesecake Edition

We had a Christmas party after Bible classes last night and we played “Dirty Santa.” You have to know how to play the game, and I know how to play the game.

When it was all said and done, I came home with a large pack of nice chocolates for Leah (I played for her so she could take care of the kids at home) and a 4 1/2 pound turtle cheesecake for myself. We may never sleep again!

Anyway, we are going Christmas shopping tomorrow (yippee), so I thought I’d get the links up today. Enjoy!

1. My dad used the sad tale of Mike Vick to write what I feel is a very powerful article. Read his words here.

2. Phil Sanders relays a great letter from a Christian in World Bible School that shows us the dedication needed to be faithful in other parts of the world. Read the powerful letter here.

3. Here is a heavily-commented-on article that deals with tips for effective Bible reading. I think the suggestions are quite simple, but good.

4. For a little fun, you might want to view this map from the New York Times. It shows where “mega-churches” are found in the United States.

In other news, we are happy to list two more blogs to our sidebar. One is “Light the Fire,” which has been used in our links roundup several times. We simply had an oversight and forgot to add it sooner. It is listed under “Christian Blogs.”

The other new addition is the blog from the English Standard Version website. While I do not endorse everything found on this site, it is a good resource to have at your disposal. It is listed under “Christian Research.”

Have a great weekend and don’t forget the Lord on His day.
