Friday Links Roundup: Mary Carol's Funny Line Edition
Kids say wonderful things. Sometimes, yes, they are a bit embarrassing, but we just do not forget the funny things children say.
Yesterday, Mary Carol said something that was so funny I nearly fell over. The Buckner’s had their baby boy, Jude, at the same hospital where Mary Carol and Turner go for their doctor’s appointments. We got to the hospital and I heard Mary Carol say something, but I didn’t understand, so I asked her, “What, honey?”
Her response, as she looked up at the hospital was…
“Do I have to tee-tee in a cup today?”
What a memory!
There are several links this week that I hope you will enjoy.
First, I wanted to share several links dealing with the reactions to the election Tuesday night. All are by men I respect and who share wonderful perspectives from the post-election reactions.
1. Joey Sparks (welcome back to the world of blogging) writes a great post entitled “About Last Night.” (The only negative thing about it is that he mentions Crimson Tide football, but that’s just Joey!)
2. Phil Sanders reminds us not to overreact to the election results in his post, “Take a Breath.”
3. Jeremiah Tatum writes an article that will, if you allow it, put things into perspective. I used this article Wednesday night for our devotional period, and it was very well-received. Read “The Vote that Counts.”
4. David Courington writes an article that can easily be developed into a sermon entitled “Now That the Election is Over.”
Now, on to some other articles from the week.
5. Jim Faughn writes on a topic that is often overlooked. Relationships (including those between a preacher and the congregation) can become so “commonplace” that we lose interest. This post is someone long, but it is very well done. It is called “The Familiarity Factor.”
6. Matthew Morine (check out his new site!) often blogs about leadership. This post, entitled “Leadership from the Center,” is brief, but quite thought-provoking.
7. Okay, so this post is a little self-promoting. Stuart Yancy recently wrote an article about Southwest Airlines, but he mentioned Lebanon Road. I didn’t preach the day he was here, but, still, when Lebanon Road gets an internet “shout-out,” I’m going to mention it!
I hope you have a great weekend. Don’t forget the Lord on His day!
