Friday Links Roundup: Off to a Great Start Edition
It was so nice to see Nebraska pull out a Gator Bowl victory yesterday. So far, the Big 12 is 3-1, but there are still quite a few teams left to play. I haven’t watched as many bowl games as usual. I think there are so many now that they start to run together after awhile.
Anyway, we’re off to a good start to 2009, and I hope you are having a great start to your new year as well. If you haven’t yet, make sure you include God in your New Year’s resolutions. One of my resolutions is to preach through the Bible on Sunday nights. I’m following a reading schedule that the members of Lebanon Road are encouraged to follow. Hopefully, this will be a great encouragement to them and to me, as we seek to follow God in 09.
On to the links this week.
1. Dale Jenkins gives some important encouragement to preachers…and, by extension, to everyone, in his New Year’s post entitled “In 2009!”
2. This is a 13-year-old post, but it was linked to this week, so I found it and enjoyed it. John Piper, on Desiring God’s website, made a list of the things for which the New Testament Church prayed. If you ever have trouble praying, this list would be something good to keep on hand.
I hope you all have a great weekend. I’m looking forward to many things in 2009, and one of those is preaching at Lebanon Road. We hope to continue the great things that are happening here. If you’re near us this weekend, stop in and see us. We worship at 9 AM and 6 PM on Sunday. We’d love to have you with us.
No matter where you are, don’t forget the Lord, especially on His day.
