Friday Links Roundup: One Week to Go Edition
We are thankful for each of our readers. This has been a good year for Faughnblog (and this will be the final post of the year). We hope to continue to bring the best we can in 2008.
Next Friday, the 9th Avenue church of Christ will begin her annual youth rally. You can view, download or print a pdf of the flyer here. The rally is going to be great, and we are expecting a lot of visitors. We hope you are planning on attending! We know we will have guests from Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Missouri and (of course) Alabama. Our goal is to have 210 in attendance and, with your help, we will exceed this goal. If you need more information, don’t hesitate to email me.
Now, on to the links for this final roundup of ’08:
1. I have never really liked the movie A Christmas Story. However, Joey Sparks took a great look at the movie and wrote some practical lessons from it for each of us to learn. Check out his article “Irrational Prejudice against Red Ryder & His Peacemaker…”
2. Reading through the Bible each year is a great resolution. But have you ever wanted to read the Bible all the way through without starting in Genesis and reading Exodus, Leviticus…; in other words “straight” through? Here is a plan: a professor at Western Reformed Seminary has made a list available of a way to read through the Bible in chronological order. This might be a good change of pace for you. Click here to see the introduction and to get the list of readings for each day. (Thanks to Lance Cordle for this one.)
Just for fun, my friend–and West Virginia native–Ryan Gallagher sent me a link to the funniest thing you’ll ever see on eBay. Check out the auction here.
I hope each of you has a safe and happy New Year holiday. Don’t forget to put the Lord first always, and especially on His day: Sunday!
