Friday Links Roundup (Record-Setting Edition)
No, this isn’t a post about that 30-3 baseball game Wednesday night; although that was pretty amazing. I might have a little post about that on Monday (I’m thinking of using it for my devotional Sunday night).
The record that was set yesterday concerns the weather. In Birmingham, the temperature crossed 100 degrees for the 14th day–this month! That is a record, and we are headed there again today. As I write this, it’s just after 9 AM and it’s already around 90. This is not a record that I want to be part of!
Anyway, here are the links for your weekend:
1. Mitchell Skelton at The Mind of Mitchell wrote a great, brief article entitled “Coated with Gooey Goop.”
2. Justin Guin asks, “What Is Your Bowl of Soup?” at Light the Fire Blog.
3. Paula Harrington reminds us of what we can do with God’s help, as she writes about “The Power Trip.”
4. Joey Sparks uses a recent movement among Alabama law enforcement to discuss how Christians often see how much they can get away with. Please read “Speed Limit Christianity.”
We hope that you continue to come to Faughnblog. We are seeing some good things happen by way of numbers. Our number of readers in Feedburner has increased from 13 to 17 in two days, and we have begun averaging over 50 hits per day this week.
However, those increases haven not helped us see an increase in financial support! While we do not “do” this blog for the money, it does take quite a bit of time and effort. If you like what you see on our blog, please take a few moments and visit the ads (right-hand side and bottom). By clicking on those ads, you help us make a little pocket change.
Also, if you have not signed up yet for Agloco…why not? It’s free, and only takes about 2 or 3 minutes. Just download the taskbar, open it when you log on to the internet, and surf the way you always have. You gain credits for surfing, and you can refer people to earn credits from their surfing activity, as well. Use this link to sign up, so I can get the referral credit. Thank you.
We’ll continue our series on Psalms (today, in fact), family and football next week. Thanks for continuing to visit (and support) The Faughn Family of Four.
