Friday Links Roundup: Second (and Final) Draft Edition
Sunday night after our worship services, some of our guys will be meeting to have a fantasy football draft. Last Saturday was so much fun, drafting with “the Hitmen.” My team is already being made fun of through emails and games haven’t even started yet. This can’t be a good sign.
Is anybody else excited that college football has kicked off? Most of the games last night were terrible, but Saturday’s games look to be better. In local news, I may actually get heard on Sunday since Vanderbilt played Thursday night (instead of the night before Sunday), and Tennessee doesn’t play until Monday. I’d better make this sermon a good one!
(And, by the way, Nebraska plays Western Michigan…go coach Bo!)
On to the links for this week:
1. David Lemmons reposted an article by brother Wade Webster entitled “4D Salvation.” Preachers, it’s alliterated!
2. Do you have friends who are not members of the Lord’s body? How do you reach out to them with the Gospel? Phil Sanders offers several steps you can take to try to win your friends for the Lord.
3. September starts next week, and some of are wondering if we are making the most of 2008. My Electronic Pulpit (welcome to the feed reader) asks, “Where Has 2007 Gone?”
4. Another new blog this week is Blessing for Bible School Teachers. On this blog, Becky Welch gives wonderful ideas for those who teach young people in Bible School–complete with lots of pictures. Here is an example of of one project I found very cool.
5. What exactly is the Church here for? What are we to compare it to? Dale Jenkins writes a very thought-provoking article entitled “The Church is a What?”
6. I love adoption. Mary Carol is such a blessing, and Leah and I are so proud that she is our adopted princess. Dr. Albert Mohler wrote an article about adoption that I found interesting. Sounds somewhat like a sermon I preached about the subject (and plan on preaching again in a few weeks).
7. For those trying to get out of debt, keeping up with exactly how much you owe can be difficult. Get Rich Slowly offers a link, and some tips, to a free debt snowball calculator.
I hope you have a great weekend. If you have not yet voted in the poll (above the posts), please do so by next Friday at noon. So far, the vote is split about like I thought it might be.
Don’t forget the Lord on His day.
