Friday Links Roundup: Thank You! Edition

What a week here on the blog!!!

We have two groups to thank for a wonderful week.

First, I want to thank my friend Steve Thompson. Steve is one of our deacons at Lebanon Road. I asked him some time ago if he would help me with some of the technical aspects of the blog and he graciously agreed. He is one of the main reasons why certain aspects of this blog look good and continue to work. This week, he helped me set up our new ad space (on the right-hand side) and helped me make the “glider” at the top of the main page work with pictures. Steve is a great worker, and I’m thankful for his help.

Also, I want to thank you, our readers! This week has seen a record number of comments on our blog. As of this writing, over 30 comments have been added to articles this week (around 20 are on yesterday’s post alone!). That “interaction” is what makes a blog fun and even more informative. The number of “hits” on our blog has also done very well this week. Thank you so much for your reading and input. We love it and want it to continue!

On to the links for this week:

1. Scott McCown shares a very interesting story with us and makes a needed application in his post “Turning Point.”

2. Cindy Colley writes about a very popular movie and why we should be far more discerning as Christians in our entertainment choices. This is a topic that needs to continually be addressed, and I hope to tackle it in an upcoming sermon. Read and pay attention to her article, “Eat, Pray, Love.

3. At Polishing the Pulpit, I’m speaking twice on the youth worker’s track. As I spent some time reflecting on my time as a youth minister, there were some wonderful and some challenging memories. Justin Guin shares some good thoughts on the same subject in his post, “Five Things I Have Learned from Being a Youth Minister.”

One quick blog update. Since we will be at Polishing the Pulpit next week, we will not post as usual. However, we are going to try to take some pictures and maybe even get some audio interviews to post. Check back often during the week to see what we have uploaded.

If you are coming to PtP, we hope to see you there!

No matter where you are this Sunday, don’t forget to honor the Lord with your worship!
