Friday Links Roundup: Three Years Edition
Three years ago this week, I was blogging like crazy. One young person in my youth group said he could tell I was trying to keep my mind working because I was posting two and three things every day. The reason was that, it was three years ago this week we were in Kentucky waiting for Mary Carol to be born.
Her birthday–and adoption day–are October 7. We thought the birth was going to happen early (all medical signs pointed that way), but she just waited until her due date! So, we were in Kentucky for a week waiting and waiting and waiting. It was wonderful to be with family, but it was also one of the most gut-wrenching weeks of my life…
…but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in this world!
On to the links for this week:
1. Is it really necessary to believe that Jesus was perfectly sinless? Absolutely! But, can we believe such? Absolutely!!! Wayne Jackson explains.
2. With the national election coming up shortly, articles continue to appear about different issues. Albert Mohler writes an interesting article about “one-issue” voters and abortion.
3. “That church has too much going on!” Ever heard that? Ever been overwhelmed by the amount of activities going on at your local congregation? I join with Johnathan Jones’s statement, “I Love an Active Church!”
4. What kind of attitude do I truly have when a sinner returns to the Lord? Rex Boyles writes a very thought provoking article of what my attitude should be.
I hope you have a great weekend. We are hoping to just stay around the house and enjoy time together as a family. We have an extremely busy rest of the month, so we hope to “guard” this weekend as much as we can.
Don’t forget the Lord on His day!

I appreciated your thoughts about your daughter’s birth and adoption. It brought back the memories of my son’s birth and adoption. We were a little uptight, wondering whether his birthmother would change her mind. Would she really trust us to care for him? Thankfully, she did. I enjoy reading your blog, especially when you write about or link to articles about adoption. Keep up the good work!
