Friday Links Roundup: WYS Edition
Sunday night, Lebanon Road will be honored to host the area-wide Winter Youth Series. Around 200 young people from all over the Nashville metro area will be in attendance, and we look forward to a huge crowd. We would love to have you with us at 6:00 for the evening, when our young men will lead the service. That will be followed by a period of fellowship and food.
Can we have 500 on Sunday night? It’s not out of the question. With your help, we can do it! I’m truly looking forward to the evening of worshiping God with such special young people. I hope to see you there.
On to the links for this week.
1. Scott McCown (welcome to the blog reader) posts a helpful outline about prayer that should remind and encourage each of us to pray more and pray more fervently.
2. Since we’re planning a garden for this summer, I found this article on Forthright to be an interesting illustration.
3. David Lemmons posted a very brief article by Mike Vestal about writing. While brief, it gives those who do not write often a look as to why writing is so valuable and difficult. Enjoy “The ‘Write’ Direction.”
4. Did you know you can have free access to the online version of the ESV Study Bible for a few days? If you are wondering about purchasing this volume, this is a great way to try it out. Here’s the article on the ESV blog.
5. The prom is so often looked at as “the night” in a young person’s life. Steve Higginbotham writes a very insightful article about what really happens at most proms. Parents, this is a must-read, but please have an open mind as you read brother Higginbotham’s words.
6. Finally, a video. One of our members sent this to me, and I was blown away. This is a video posted by a 12-year-old young lady who is explaining why abortion is wrong. Preachers, it’s worth watching this one! This girl has her facts straight!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend. We are excited about the WYS, but we are excited about every Lord’s Day at Lebanon Road! If you are near Nashville, come by and worship the Lord with us. You’ll be glad you did.
No matter where you are, don’t forget the Lord, especially on His Day.
