How About Some Good News for a Change?

Are you tired of bad news? Do you feel dragged down by all the negative headlines? Is the push and pull of social media getting you upset?

There’s an old saying in journalism: “If it bleeds, it leads.” To put it simply, bad news draws our attention, so we get more of it.

And, to be fair, there is a lot of bad news. When you live in a world filled with frail and sinful people, there are going to be sicknesses and murders and arguments and breakups and scandals and, and, and………

However, while that is true, if we have faith in God, there is always good news! No matter what is going on in the world around us–or even in our own lives–there is eternally good news.

Do you need some good news? Here’s just a starter list:

  • God is still in control.
  • Jesus is still King of kings and Lord of lords.
  • Jesus loves you.
  • God gave His Son for you.
  • The Bible has not changed.
  • You can be saved from your sin.
  • The Church is a family.
  • As long as you are living, you have opportunities to prepare for heaven.
  • When God forgives, He forgives through-and-through.
  • “Goodbye” will never be said in heaven.
  • We know where the story is going: Jesus wins!
  • Someone does care for your soul.
  • Someone is praying for you.
  • You have the honor of talking to the Almighty Creator at anytime.
  • God is already in tomorrow (and beyond).

Feel a little better? Then how about sharing these stories with the world! After all, these are things that people most need to hear anyway.
