Is Heaven Real to You?

In the middle of our trip to Pensacola, we paused to attend Bible Study and were blessed to land on the final night of a gospel meeting with Allan Webster. He spoke on reasons we should want to go to heaven. He gave some great points as to why we want to go to heaven, all based on Scriptural truths, but one really hit home with me.

From Matthew 8:11, he made the point that we will be with the people of faith described in the pages of the Bible. That verse reads: “I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.”

Is that real to you? What questions do you have for those faithful individuals (and others)? He mentioned several: “Abraham how did you raise that knife?” “Isaac, what were you thinking when you saw that knife!?” “Noah, what was it like to leave the ark and step into a pristine world, washed clean of sin?”

May I ask again, is that real to you? You see, if you don’t believe all of those things are real, neither will the beauty of heaven be real to you. What about the hill called Golgotha? And the empty tomb three days later?

Friend, they are real, whether you believe it or not. May I lovingly suggest you study the Bible to make that all real in your mind and heart so that one day, heaven will not only be real, but will also be your home.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. (Revelation 21:3)
