Lebanon Road Report: August 31

What a way to end a month and move into September!

As with any holiday weekend, you never really know what to expect. We thought our numbers would be down a bit, partly because we had 24 people at a young family’s retreat that lasted from Friday night through Sunday afternoon. Also, we thought maybe some of our folks might be traveling away.

We did have some folks away…

…but…

we were still blessed to have 379 in attendance Sunday morning! If you add in the 24 that were on our retreat, we had 403 Sunday morning!

In addition, with the 24 counted in, we had 301 in Bible classes. It was a tremendous week. Visitors were here from all over the mid-south, and we had several from the Nashville area.

On Sunday night, our young men conducted the services and did a tremendous job. Three young men–David Smith, Austin Nichols, and John Thomas Baker–spoke on the topic “How God is Not Like Man.” They used dozens of Bible verses, which made me proud. They stuck to the Word! The young men who led prayers and read the Scripture also did a great job. We are blessed with young men who are willing to lead, and who put effort into their leading.

We are looking forward to next Sunday, when we will have a potluck for our new members. The great part is that we have a ton to honor! We hope to make this a regular event, as we continue to baptize souls and have others place membership with us.

Whenever you’re in or near Nashville, stop in and see us. You’ll be glad you did.
