Lebanon Road Report: December 14
It has been a wonderful couple of weeks at Lebanon Road. While our attendance has slacked just a bit, it is still very good and a lot of good things continue to happen.
First, over the past couple of weeks, we have added some new members. Greg Holland, along with his daughter, Abby, placed membership with us. Both are Christians, as Abby was baptized at our camp this past Summer. They have been visiting with us for some time, and we are thankful they have decided to work and worship with us. Also, Bill Wolfe has come to worship with us under the oversight of our elders. His son, Jordan, attends with him as well. Bill is a former preacher, which means that every Sunday I now preach before three former preachers, in addition to Harry and JD who work with us….no pressure there! Seriously, we are so excited to have these new members, and we pray they will work hard in God’s kingdom under our elders.
We had 344 in attendance yesterday morning for worship, and had a good number for Bible classes and evening worship, too. Again, that’s down just a bit, but we’re still working hard, and are still continuing to see good things happen.
JD met yesterday with the parents to lay down some plans for 2009. He told me that there are a lot of good things planned, and he is working on a 2009 calendar for our families. It’s great to see that “forward looking” mindset among he and our parents.
Also yesterday afternoon, some of our smaller children went to a local nursing home to sing Christmas carols. They sang in the lobby, then in the room of one of our members, then in the dining hall. They did a great job and brought a lot of joy to the residents. Here are some pictures of their singing:
They enjoyed singing…and the pizza party they had afterward!
We continue to love and appreciate Lebanon Road. It is such a special place. Visitors continue to be with us, and we hope that anytime you are able, you will be among them.
