Lebanon Road Report: December 21
Brrrrrr!
That’s what everyone was saying as they entered the church building yesterday. For those who don’t live in the South, you don’t know how weird our weather has been lately. Around 5PM on Saturday, the temperature at our house was around 57. It was breezy and cool, but quite nice. By 5PM on Sunday…it was around 20! This morning when I woke up, it was 9 degrees.
We are blessed to have a nice, warm building in which to worship God and have our Bible classes. We had several families away on Christmas holiday, and others were ill, but we were still blessed with a wonderful day at Lebanon Road.
We were excited to welcome another new member to the Lebanon Road family yesterday. Stephen Kersteins placed his membership with us yesterday morning. He recently moved to Nashville from Kentucky, and he works with Lipscomb University’s IT department. I went to college with his sister, Heather, so it’s nice to reconnect with that family. Stephen brings a lot of talent to Lebanon Road, and we are looking forward to his work with us.
We were blessed with several visitors from all over the place yesterday, including a few from the community that I’ll be trying to visit this afternoon. In total, we had 376 in our worship services yesterday. It was a great day at Lebanon Road…which is the norm!
Our family will be headed to Kentucky for Christmas Tuesday night, and staying for a week as we take our last week of vacation for 2008. We will miss Lebanon Road while we are away, but we know things will continue to go well. If you’re in or around Nashville, stop by and see the friendliest folks you’ll ever meet!
