Lebanon Road Report: March 15
We continue to be “hit” by seasonal illnesses, and that hurt our attendance again. However, (Lebanon Road folks, are you reading???), we also don’t need to use that as our only excuse! We have a lot of work to do, and we don’t need to rest! While we were down a bit in our attendance from normal, we were up from last week, so maybe we are starting to get these “bugs” out of our system! We had 330 in worship yesterday morning.
That being said, we still had a very uplifting day of worship. I was reminded again of how loving Lebanon Road is with the comments on both sermons.
For the morning worship, we continued through the letter to Titus, and we reached 2:3-5, which deals with what older women are to teach. This section of Scripture seems to be completely against our modern society, but still needs to be preached. I was thankful for all the kind comments from ladies of all ages about the sermon. In case you’re you’re interested, here’s the PowerPoint from it:
Last night, I preached from Numbers 11 and called the sermon “I Give Up!” Dealing with frustrations and difficulties is something common to all people, so it was, I felt, a timely lesson.
It was also a joy to be a part of a meeting planning our summer youth camp. We settled on a theme (more to come on that later), and many were present to work on the camp. It shows a great amount of dedication to this work for our young people!
In addition to that, Leah (in my place, since I was at the camp meeting) represented our family in a meeting for those who will be door-knocking in the coming weeks. While many have gone away from this method, it still works with some people, so we are going to do our best at it! If nothing else, it will put friendly faces to the name “Lebanon Road.” Please pray for this effort.
We are always thankful for visitors, and we had several. I’m looking forward to seeing them later today, and sending cards to those from out-of-town. Why don’t you come be one of them soon?

Are you door knocking for something specific? Don’t say Jesus.

Not really…just trying to take advantage of a city with folks moving in and out a lot.
Our goal is do this before Easter, though, since a lot of folks will come on that day. Our outreach minister, and one of our newer members, are working on this together.
