Lebanon Road Report: March 8
Whatever is “going around” found its way to our membership! Our numbers were way down yesterday, and most of it was due to sickness. We are praying that folks get well quickly, but we also have more work to do besides getting over illnesses.
As usual, we were blessed with a good number of visitors. It was good to see some college buddies, Mike and Heather, visiting with us yesterday. Heather’s brother Stephen is a member at Lebanon Road, and it was fun to have them with us.
We were down to 315 yesterday morning. While that’s down, it should motivate us to work hard inviting friends and neighbors. We never want to rest in reaching out with the truth.
The sermon yesterday morning dealt with Titus 2:2. Here is the PowerPoint from that lesson:
(The look is quite good, but the fonts were much more appealing. Scribd only recognizes a few fonts, so mine often get changed in uploading.)
Last night, we were privileged to host the area-wide Winter Youth Series at Lebanon Road. We had many visitors and the worship was very uplifting. So many from Lebanon Road helped by bringing food and having it prepared for the meal after our services.
Several of our young men led the service last night and did an outstanding job. They are to be commended for their preparation as well as their leadership during the service. Two of our young men brought us “Sermons from Songs.” Austin Nichols delivered a sermon based upon the song “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us,” while John Thomas Baker spoke and delivered the invitation based on “Why Do You Wait?” Each did a great job, as did the young men who led singing, led prayers, and read Scripture. We are proud of them, as well as all our young people.
We hope you will come see us soon. Lebanon Road is a vibrant, growing place (when we’re not all sick!), and I hope you’ll want to come see why.
