Lebanon Road Report: September 21
No matter how you look at it, Friends and Family Day was a huge success! That was true for at least three reasons.
1. First, it was our privilege to welcome two new members to the Lebanon Road family. Janean Pearson has been a resident of Nashville for some time, but recently began visiting with us. She lives near our building and we are grateful she has decided to be with us. Peggy Black moved to Nashville recently from the Atlanta area. She is a sweet lady who also lives near our building. We are thankful she has made Lebanon Road her church home. Both of these good ladies will be great additions to our growing family.
2. Second, Friends and Family Day was great because it took an “all-out effort” to have a great day. People brought tons of food. Hundreds of invitations were made. The number of prayers offered can only be counted by the Lord. Dozens helped set up for the meal and more helped remove tables and clean up afterward. It was a day when Lebanon Road truly put forth her best effort in friendship and love, and people noticed.
3. Finally, speaking of people, there were plenty who noticed that friendship! Our goal was to have 501 in attendance. The last time over 500 met for worship at Lebanon Road was in 2004. I am so excited to tell you that we exceeded that goal! Our attendance yesterday was 534! It is a day that we will not soon forget. In fact, 53 visitors cards were filled out, many by folks who are not members of the Lord’s church. It is my plan to start visiting with those folks this afternoon and evening.
I hope to have more pictures later in the week of Friends and Family Day, but here are a couple of interesting photos. The first is of the tent we set up in back of our building for our meal, and the second is a picture of the visitors cards that were turned in.
To God be the glory for such a wonderful day. Please pray for us as we now start the follow-up work with so many. May God be glorified in all we do, but especially as we reach out to souls in our area.
