Lebanon Road/Central Report: October 12
We have enjoyed a tremendous weekend! On Friday night, the Lebanon Road church of Christ kicked off her “Mission Emphasis Weekend” with a congregational meal with six of our eight visiting missionaries. (The other two were still traveling.) 114 were present to encourage our missionaries and to be encouraged with a brief report of their works.
Following that meal, my family was on the road. We drove to Paducah, Kentucky, where Jeremiah and I began a joint Gospel Meeting on Sunday. The meeting is going so well! On most Sundays, Central has about 190-200 in attendance. We were so excited that there were over 180 in Bible class, and then we enjoyed an attendance of 260 in worship! We were also uplifted by the fellowship we enjoyed at the meal following our worship. It was estimated that 200 stayed for that meal. Last night’s attendance was also tremendous. 197 were present. Please continue to pray for this effort as we continue through Wednesday.
Back in Nashville, Lebanon Road also had a good day. The 8 missionaries reported and preached throughout the day. I have been told they did a great job. 345 were present for worship, and 284 were in attendance for Bible class. I’m so thankful that Lebanon Road saw fit to have her missionaries “come in” for a weekend to report and to be uplifted. They each got time one-on-one with our elders and with the missions committee, and they were also treated to trips to Christian bookstores and to Churches of Christ Disaster Relief. This was a great weekend.
We are enjoying our meeting and time with family, but we are also looking forward to being back in Nashville when the meeting concludes. We hope to see you there!
