Podcasts You Need #6: Churches of Christ Podcasts

Yes, as you might expect, I subscribe to several podcasts from churches of Christ. I must admit, though, that I am saddened that there are not that many, and many (as you will see) do not update very often. Here are the ones to which I keep a subscription, even if they do not update often.

1. International Gospel Hour: 15 Gospel Minutes. The IGH has a daily radio program all over the United States. These podcasts are the radio programs put on iTunes in bulk. If you like listening to the Gospel preached, you will greatly enjoy Winford Claiborne’s lessons. (Release: weekly programs posted at the beginning of the next month; 4 programs each time. Length: 15 minutes each).

2. International Gospel Hour: 5 Gospel Minutes. The same idea as the previous one, just shorter lessons. Programs are, again, released on iTunes at the beginning of the following month, so you will have a large amount of podcasts at the same time.

3. North Jackson church of Christ. Unfortunately, NJCoC has not updated since March. I certainly hope they do, because David Powell is one of my favorite preachers.

The same is also true of…

4. Lewisville church of Christ (Jeff Jenkins…another favorite…I’d love to hear his sermons!) and

5. Dalraida church of Christ (Doug Smith).

6. Richland Hills church of Christ. While there are several things that go on at RH with which I do not agree, I still listen to the weekly sermon. I just wish that this congregation would come back to the straight way! It could be such a force for good. Listen with caution. (Release: once each week, usually Monday; Length: about 30 minutes).

I know these are not the only churches of Christ putting lessons on iTunes. I wish there were more (including us!). By the way, if you are from North Jackson, Lewisville, or Dalraida, please let me know if I am doing something wrong. I really like the lessons I’ve heard from these places, because all three preachers are strong in the Scriptures.

    Adam,

I subscribe to all three that you’re asking about, and they don’t update regularly.

Lewisville recently added the lessons from their Sound Doctrine and Practice Workshop, so they’ve updated in the past couple of weeks.

If you don’t have a person whose only job is to load lessons every week, I’m sure it’s hard to get around to. Maybe technology can improve and bring it around to make it easier.

    Thanks for the recommendations…

Of course, just one day after posting this, I get a new podcast from Lewisville! I hope that it continues to be updated regularly.
