Podcasts You Need #6: Leadership Stuff

As is the case with many preachers, I like to read about leadership. I have several books (thanks to a generous gift from a friend) by John Maxwell and recently reviewed a book by Zig Ziglar. Most preachers enjoy reading these books because they are filled with principles that come straight from the Scriptures, and because preachers are leaders.

I subscribe to two leadership podcasts that are brief but powerful.

1. Inspiring Words of Encouragement. Zig Ziglar’s podcast is wonderful! If you have never listened to Zig speak, you have missed a wonderful opportunity. These podcasts cover a range of topics. While most deal with the business world, there are some that deal with marriage and the family, and even a few purely religious episodes. Each is filled with Zig’s unique humor and ability. These are a joy to hear. One unique thing about this podcast is that most are audio, but some are video. Also, Zig is not always the speaker. So far, I have heard another speaker from his company on two occasions, although Zig is usually the main speaker. (Release: once per week. Length: varies, but less than 20 minutes)

2. The Leadership Moment. These podcasts are very brief motivational thoughts. Introduced by John Maxwell, the podcasts are done by John Hull who works with EQUIP. If you like brief, but powerful, these are your podcasts. (Release: five teams each week. Length: 1 minute)
