Reading History; Making History
I finished reading a spiral-bound book dealing with the history of Lebanon Road a few days ago. In 2003, the congregation celebrated her 50th anniversary. As you might expect there was a large weekend, and a book was produced that gave much of the history of the congregation. It has been informative and uplifting to look through past events and to see how many have come to the Lord through the efforts of this wonderful place. It has also been helpful to see names of people I now know and to see when they were baptized, or when they moved their membership to Lebanon Road.
Then, last night we were pleased to have “more history” made. We welcomed two new members to the Lebanon Road family. First, sister Chris Johnson placed her membership with us. She has been with us for quite some time, but had never expressed her desire to work under the oversight of our elders. We are so pleased she made that decision, and will be working alongside.
Also, before our services, Dylan Stevens was baptized into Jesus Christ by our youth minister, JD. (I’m sorry there are no pictures of the baptism, but we will place pictures of Dylan on here soon. The baptism took place with almost no one in the building.) Dylan has been visiting with us for some time. He is a very kind young man, and we are excited for him in this greatest of all decisions. We know great things will come from this young man.
I say it often, and I always mean it: great things are happening at Lebanon Road. Come see why!
