ReConnect 2023

A few years ago, Josh and Amanda Ketchum met up with Leah and me with an idea. They noticed that there was nothing that they knew of for preachers and their wives specifically to help build up their marriages. So, out of that meeting (at Chick-fil-A of course), ReConnect was born.

The idea behind ReConnect is simple: it is a two-day retreat that is meant to give encouragement to preachers and their wives. Through lessons, discussion groups, and fellowship, these couples are given an opportunity to step out of the grind of ministry and, well, reconnect.

This year, we are glad to have this event again, and we are grateful to the Soddy Church of Christ in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee for hosting. From 1PM on Thursday, May 12 through supper on Friday, May 13, these couples will be built up and given opportunities to learn and grow as a couple.

I highly recommend that elderships (or just concerned members) give this trip to their preacher as a token of appreciation. The registration cost is only $40 per couple, so it is a very small investment, but it can pay huge dividends. (By the way, neither the Ketchums or we profit from ReConnect. All of the registration money is used for costs.)

In 2023, all of the sessions will deal specifically with marriage and not parenting, so that couples can focus on their marriage and, hopefully, be drawn closer together again. Ministry can be very hard on a marriage, and we pray that ReConnect gives couples a chance to overcome those difficulties and be better for it.
