Reconnect: A Retreat for Preachers and Preachers’ Wives
Every couple needs time to step away from the normal run, run, run of life and think about their relationship. Preachers and their wives are no different.
That’s why we are excited to let you know about a special 2-day retreat being held in October that is exclusively for preachers and their wives. The retreat is called “Reconnect,” and we are thrilled to be part of the planning of it.
Several months ago, our friends Josh and Amanda Ketchum met with us about this idea, and we have been working on it ever since. Today, we are proud to unveil this retreat and hope that you will encourage your preacher and his wife to take part.
Reconnect is designed to be uplifting, encouraging, and Biblical, but also relaxed. There will be lessons for couples, lessons specifically for the men, lessons specifically for the women, and breakout discussion groups. There will also be some free time and fun time.
The retreat will be held at the building of the Lebanon Road Church of Christ in Nashville, Tennessee, and will be on October 10-11 (Thursday-Friday). It will begin after lunch on Thursday and end with a special date night supper on Friday evening.
Speakers will include Josh and Amanda Ketchum, Dale Jenkins, Jerrie and Gail Barber, John Thomas, and Leah and myself. The cost is just $30 per couple, which will cover Thursday’s supper, Friday’s lunch, and a small stipend for guest speakers (note: Josh, Amanda, Leah, and I are not taking any money from this). Couples only have to get a hotel room and cover their travel, plus Friday’s night special date night meal.
We also have a concert planned in the schedule for Thursday night that should add a little romance to the retreat!
We are very excited to be just a small part of this effort to encourage preachers and their wives, and we hope you will encourage your preacher and his wife to take part in Reconnect.
