Share Your Anticipation
Next week, the annual Freed-Hardeman University Bible lectures will be held on the Henderson, Tennessee, campus. For our family, it is one of the highlights of the year. We love the Biblical feast in which we learn so many lessons. We love the Christian fellowship we share with family and friends from all over the country. We love the singing. We love the book fair. And on and on it goes!
I’m looking forward to several lectures this year, none more so than hearing my dad speak on Thursday morning. I always enjoy hearing Marlin Connelly speak about preaching, and I’m excited about the “dual” themes being presented in the mornings by Dan Winkler and Jay Lockhart. These are in addition to many other speakers and topics I’m so excited about.
This year’s theme comes from First and Second Corinthians. These two books are filled with needed instructions for the Lord’s Church. As the old saying goes, “The more things change, the more they stay the same.” That is true of the instructions, warnings, and admonitions found in these two letters from Paul. They are just as timely today as they were 2000 years ago.
In addition to lectures from these books, there are many special series that will go on. The youth worker’s series is back, and looks to be a great help to those who work with young people. There will also be a special series of lessons on Wednesday for those who help with the Bible school program. For a full schedule of the week’s lessons, click here (pdf file).
I’m always excited about this wonderful week, and I hope you are, too.

Ralph Gilmore just said, “Lectureship week is like Jersuselam on Pennacost” in class. It’s gonna be a great week! Can’t wait to see old friends like you, Adam!
