The Only Poll That Matters
Well, all the votes have been made. There’s no way to know as I write this if they have been counted yet, or even if we know the outcome. But the work of the public is done.
For months, data has flowed. Hundreds upon hundreds of polls have been conducted. People have paid attention to markets, movements in geopolitics, the comments of pundits, and a seemingly endless avalanche of ads.
I must admit, I’m a nerd for this stuff. I look at data for months on end because I find it tremendously interesting. From hundreds of polls to thousands of articles and posts, I’ve looked at data, just for my own curiosity and interest.
But now, with all that behind us, there really is only one poll that matters. As it pertains to the election, there is, really, only one survey question that we must answer and that makes the ultimate difference.
Here is that one question:
Did I shine the light of Jesus in my words, actions, social media, interactions, and thoughts?
There’s nothing on that poll about a “D” or “R.” There’s nothing about Trump or Harris. There’s nothing there that allows for a “third party” vote.
It’s a simple “yes” or “no” that makes more of a difference than anything anyone could have done in all the polling, surveying, and commentary over the entire election cycle.
Because the answer to that question affects my eternal soul. And maybe I need to take a serious and hard look at how I would answer. Then, maybe I need to take an even more serious look at how God would answer for me.
