Two Items for the Weekend
I had two totally unrelated items to share, so, in the tradition of “blogging,” I’m making them one post!
1. First, allow me to promote an upcoming event at the 9th Avenue church of Christ. We are hosting our 2nd Annual Youth Lectureship on Thursday, July 13. This is more than a youth rally, it is a full day of deep Bible study. Teachers are told to delve deeply and students will learn much throughout the day. We will begin at 9 AM with a short period of singing, and then the classes will begin. There are nine classes from which to choose and there are six class periods (meaning students will not hear every class). The classes fall within three tracks of study. This year those three tracks are (1) Lessons from First and Second Corinthians; (2) Proofs of the Bible’s Inspiration; and (3) Extremely Difficult Issues. For the third track, we are asking adults to attend with the young people, as the three topics for discussion are Depression, Suicide and Grief. The day will end at 6 PM. All you need to bring is a Bible and some money for a couple of meals on the town. If you need more information feel free to call the 9th Avenue church at (205) 486-9247.
2. If you have not been going to Christian Courier since its “re-launch,” you are missing some great articles. There has been none better so far than the most recent article, though. It is an interesting juxtaposition of real tragedy and humor. Take the time to read the article “My Husband is a Snake” by clicking here.
We hope it is not just some fluke, but the number of hits has really picked up this week. Please keep coming back, and please spread the word about our blog. We enjoy putting this information out there for you.
