Two Seven Three

I’m writing this brief post just a few minutes after the closing of the 9th Avenue youth rally. Last night and today, we enjoyed a great time of Bible study, fellowship, singing, prayer and fun. The classes and lessons were well-taught and the speakers had obviously put much thought into the words they spoke.

We studied the book of James and the lessons, as you might expect, were practical and helpful for those of every age who attended. It was so encouraging to hear these practical lessons that will, no doubt, make a difference in the life of each hearer.

We were also excited about our attendance. Our record attendance at the youth rally had been 197. “Had been” is the key phrase in that last sentence, because we crushed the record. With young people and adults from Indiana, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama, we were able to set a new record that was astounding.

We had 273 in attendance! In other words, we had almost 50% more than the previous record! Each one was attentive to the lessons and I often heard pages turning, which I know encouraged each speaker.

Many from 9th Avenue helped in many areas, from food preparation to housing to cleaning up to prayer to running the computer system and recording system. It took many to “pull off” the weekend, and I’m thankful for each.
What a great two days! It was worth all the effort!!!

To put it simply: it was a great weekend and one I’ll not soon forget.
