Using and Supporting Faughnblog
Since I will not have a regular bulletin article for the next couple of weeks, I thought I’d take this time to do a little introducing…or re-introducing to our blog.
Our blog is dedicated to New Testament Christianity. We don’t have all the answers…but God DOES! Our job is just to find them in His Word, being honest and open with our study. I hope you find the articles and other features to be helpful, but, more importantly, Biblical.
If you are new to the site, or if you just want a little refresher course on how to “get going,” I hope this short article helps.
1. We have an RSS feed. In the upper right-hand corner, there is an icon that allows you to subscribe to our blog and read any article that we write in your RSS feed. Several (around 20) have done this, and you are welcome to do so as well. The only drawback is that you have to come to the actual site to leave comments.
2. There are links on the right-hand side as well. We link to several other blogs and websites, but only ones that we go to often and that we find helpful. All the authors of the blogs are sound Christians who are writing things from which you will learn. Click on them often!
3. Our posting schedule, admittedly, is someone irregular, but there are some regular features. Most weeks we add an article on either Monday or Tuesday. My bulletin article (when I write one) is published here on Wednesday or Thursday. On Friday, we have the “Friday Links Roundup,” which contains links to some of my favorite stories of the week around the internet. There are other articles as well, but this is the minimum we strive to reach each week.
4. There are now over 600 articles on this blog! It’s hard for me to believe sometimes that we have so many. However, like many blogs, articles can be “buried” in the archives, never to be seen again. We have figured out a way to help with that. At the top and bottom of this page, there is a small search box from Google. If you want to see if we have ever written about a topic, simply type your search into the box, click the button beside “faughnblog.blogspot.com,” and click “Search.” Google will automatically search ONLY this site! This is a great way to find an older article that you partially remember, or just to see if we have ever written about a certain topic.
5. Also, you can support us. We don’t want cash “handouts.” But we do have advertisements spread out around the page that you can click. Each click earns us a few cents (literally, cents). However, these cents quickly become dollars if these ads are used often. We love this blog, but it does take a considerable amount of work to keep it moving forward. Your “clicks” are an easy way to show your support. With each visit, when you finish reading, please support us by clicking on an ad or two. We would greatly appreciate it! (What else would you expect from the co-author of a Christian personal finance site?!).
6. Most importantly, pass along the blog. Our numbers go up and down and right now we are leveling out a bit. We want to keep moving forward. Send the link in an email. Write it down and share it with someone. If you have a site, link to us! We will automatically link back to you (at the bottom of this page, you can see all the blogs that have linked to us). While our blog isn’t the best on the web, we do try to make it the best it can be. We feel like that’s worth sharing.
