Welcome to Vatican Science Class
Yesterday, the Vatican announced that it believes that Intelligent Design (ID) is not really science. The Vatican newspaper article also stated that ID should not be taught in schools alongside Darwin’s theory of evolution.
Not surprisingly, the article then turned right around and stated that certain things in nature do seem to have some sense of superior design, so scientists should not be surprised that there might be more to evolutionary theory than just “chance.” However, the paper was quick to point out that natural selection seemed to be the most logical explanation for things.
Allow me to ask the obvious question: “WHICH IS IT?” How long can religious people continue to say that, possibly, both evolution and creation are true? How long will religious “leaders” continue to straddle the fence?
Either Genesis 1 is true, or it is not. There really can be no middle ground. If Moses is correct, God created in everything in 6 literal days. Of course there have been changes in certain animals and plants over time, but everything did not come about because of those changes. If evolutionists are correct, everything came from nothing and we are just here by chance, as is everything else.
The Vatican seems to want to think that both are correct. It sounds like the new Pope, as smart as he is, may need to start reading in Genesis again. The first verse in the Bible tells us that “God created the heavens and the earth.”
