Just 10 Minutes

They only had 10 minutes of studio time left. They had three songs to choose from, but the producer only liked one. So, in just 10 minutes, the group quickly rehearsed, then laid down a track. There was a little post-recording work, but the group was finished with their part in just 10 minutes.

You may think, in such an extremely short amount of time, the group could not record anything of quality or any song worth hearing. But I promise you have heard the song. What was it? Enjoy the fruits of a 10-minute recording session:

Now, why share that on our blog?

Because we all complain that we just don’t have enough time to do anything of any importance. I would dare say, though, that every one of us has 10 minutes. Somewhere in our day, we can find 10 minutes to devote to something.

What could you do in 10 minutes?

  • Write an email or letter to a missionary
  • Buy a meal for someone who is hurting
  • Compose a blog post to encourage folks (this post took about 7 minutes, actually)
  • Read to a child
  • Stop by a nursing home/assisted living home and visit a shut-in member
  • Buy a small surprise present for your wife/husband
  • Make a phone call to a grieving widow or widower
  • Spend time in prayer for a specific need

And you can add to the list.

The Marcels made music history in just 10 minutes. Christians can change the world in an eternally more important way if we will see even those small slices of time as opportunities.

What will you do with your 10 minutes? What other things would you add to the list?
