12 Reasons I Love Leah

Today is Leah’s birthday. The card I bought her states is well in saying that she is a blessing from God. (Yes, she cried….grand slam!)

This list could be really, really long, but I just want to share with you 10 reasons why I love Leah.

Leah with her presents and breakfast this morning.

ONE…. That’s the place where God is in her life. If you spend any time with Leah at all, you know that the Lord is first, and that her major desire is life is to please Him.

TWO…. We are two different people, made one through marriage. When you know us, you learn that opposites attract. But, we are one and hold fast to the vows we have made.

THREE…. Leah is one of three children, and her family is one of the reasons I love her. Her parents are great in-laws, and her siblings are special to us!

FOUR…. The Faughn family of four. Only Leah could balance the life that we lead. She juggles many things, due to our busy lifestyle, and always is the one who keeps our family grounded.

FIVE…. Our five-year-old, Mary Carol, has the greatest example of a mommy she could have. We have truly seen Mary Carol begin to adore Leah over the past few months, and who can blame her?

SIX….. Turner has been talking the last couple of weeks about turning six. (He just turned four a couple of weeks ago, but Mary Carol will be six later this year, so he talks about it, too.) Turner loves his mommy! After telling her “happy birthday” this morning, he asked her, “Are you exTited?” He likes to watch mommy cook, and likes to give her hugs. If he is blessed to find a lady like her one day to marry, he will be blessed indeed.

SEVEN…. Leah’s Bible class has 1st and 2nd graders (some of whom are 7-years-old), and they have a great teacher. Leah has a heart for Bible class and for children learning about the Bible, and she always wants to do her best. It shows!

EIGHT…. That’s how many seasons The Cosby Show was on the air, and Leah and I love them all! I enjoy how we continually make references to this great show in casual conversation, but I enjoy just sitting down and watching an episode with her more.

NINE…. That’s what time worship starts on Sunday morning at Lebanon Road. Though early, and though we live about 15 minutes away, we are always early and the kids are dressed and ready. More than that, Leah loves worship because she loves God.

TEN…. That’s the score I give Leah’s beautiful smiling face!!! (And everything else about her, of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

ELEVEN…. We have been married for 11 years (12 in June), and I can’t think of a better way to spend 11 years!

TWELVE…. That’s how many inches taller than Leah I am, but she is a giant of faith and love in my heart.

Happy birthday to my blessing from God.
