“8 Days with the Preacher” : Day 6, Friday February 24

It has been quite a day, with a little of this and a little of that.

The morning routine was changed up just a bit, since Turner slept in (for him), so we only got to play Angry Birds for a couple of minutes before it was time to get breakfast going. In the morning, I listened to ESPN Football Today and started a Dave Ramsey Show podcast.

After breakfast, I went upstairs and started working. On most Fridays, I work from home and try to only work part of the day, but this would be  little different. I worked on some emails, then selected my songs for Sunday night (I’ll be leading singing at Lebanon Road). After that, I got to work on finishing up the February Links Roundup for the blog [link here if you didn’t see it]. Following that, I did some reading and got ready for iPreach.

At 10AM, Dale Jenkins and I recorded this week’s episode of iPreach. As always, it was fun. We interviewed our friend Paul Spurlin about some of the upcoming events at Faulkner University, including their Bible lectureship. If you wish to hear this podcast, here is the link.

After that, I wrote a letter to a friend who is hurting, then headed out to the store to get some things that Leah needed while she finished up the homeschool morning with the kids.

Upon returning, I wrote a couple of emails and finished listening to The Briefing with Albert Mohler. I also started listening to the latest iQuest podcast. Then I started getting lunch ready as the kids finished up their morning school work.

We ate lunch together, but I had to hurry, so I ran upstairs and changed into a suit and tie to head to a funeral. I had been asked to sing at this service for one of our dear ladies, so I headed across town to the funeral home in time to practice a bit, then the service was at 2PM. On the way there, I listened to the CBS College Basketball podcast. When I got in the car to come home, I returned a phone call that was very exciting…but I can’t say anything about this good work yet! Then I listened to a little more of the iQuest podcast.

The Fox and the Hound is tonight's movie choice

When I got home, I rested for a few minutes. Tonight, we are having our weekly movie night, and Leah is making chili dogs. We are watching The Fox and the Hound, since the kids have been learning about foxes in school this week. After that, Leah and I will watch some TV together and call it a night. I love Fridays when we get to be at home. We try to make them relaxed and special.
