ABC "Family"?

Leah and I enjoy many programs on the ABC Family network. They show reruns of shows that make us laugh. Most of the shows are ones we don’t mind showing with our kids around. (Of course, if we wouldn’t show it to our kids, we don’t need to be watching it, either!!!!!!!).

Recently, though, the network has unveiled some new shows that are not good. The show Greek features college life and portrayed partying, dating and talking about sex as normal college behavior. Drinking is such a heavy part of the show that the “logo” for the series is a crumpled-up plastic cup.

Tonight, another new series begins on the network. Slacker Cats is the first original animated series in the history of the ABC Family network. However, just because it is a cartoon, doesn’t mean it needs to be seen. We have started muting the commercials for the series, due to their crude language. The cats have no life, and, so the series is based around their antics with all their free time. Coarse joking and sexual talk fill the time. (I would provide a link to the show’s description, if it didn’t contain filthy language!)

This post is here just to remind us all to be very careful with what we view. Just because it’s a cartoon, or a teenage show, doesn’t make it clean. The network doesn’t matter. Christians need to be ready at every click of the remote.
