Book Review: Fullness of Time
Brother Steve Sanders has completed his first book, a class book dealing with the historical background of he New Testament. The book is short, but the lessons have enough “meat” to serve a class well in studying these matters.
The book deals with certain issues that may confuse the Bible student who is told to follow the New Testament. For example, one chapter entitled “Who Are These People?” deals with the Sadducees, Pharisees, Scribes and Sanhedrin. Obviously, there is no way brother Sanders could go into deep detail on these four groups in one chapter. He does, however, provide the reader with the basic information needed to begin understanding the role these people played in the New Testament.
Each chapter deals with similar questions. Other issues addressed include the Herod’s, what is inspiration, and can we trust the Bible? In total there are 13 chapters dealing with similar issues.
The author has a brief introduction to the book which, in part, explains the brevity of the chapters. He also includes a list of suggested sources at the end that would greatly benefit a teacher wanting to use this book for a classroom setting. Brother Sanders simply wanted to give the “essence” of each lesson, and he has accomplished that goal quite well.
The book is self-published and can be purchased here, or by contacting Steve Sanders in Doniphan, Missouri.
