Two Reviews
[On Mondays, I review books I have finished reading in a word-for-word fashion in the previous week.] ———————————————– The Murder of Jesus John MacArthur Word Publishing, 2000 (250 pages) In this volume, MacArthur simply walks the reader through the events often called “the passion.” Beginning with the plot devised by the Jewish leaders and their conversation with Judas Iscariot, the writer shares thoughts on the events that lead up to the cross. Review of “Free Book” by Brian Tome
For the first 30 or so pages of Free Book, I got the feeling that this was another “just do what you want and God will bless it” type of book. A Little Hodgepodge on Monday
On Monday, we do book reviews, and there is one later in this post, but I wanted to share a few bits of news that aren’t really worthy of a full post on our blog. —————————————– First, I had a wonderful time at the FHU lectures. I wish I could express how much these weeks mean to me and my family. We are excited about going to Polishing the Pulpit for the first time in the Fall, and I’m honored that I’ll be speaking on the youth minister’s track there. If you have never taken the time to attend even a day of a lectureship like these, make it a…
