Friday Links Roundup: 25 cents Edition

As I type this, we are right in the middle of hosting a garage sale. It’s about 50 degrees and misting, but we are still selling a few things. I think we should start a trend to rename garage sales: “Funding Retirement, a Quarter at a Time.”

Still lots of good stuff left, and we’ll be here tomorrow morning, too. Come buy something!!!

On to the links for this week:

1. Daniel Hope gives a very simple recipe for our lives in his post “From Affluenza to Simplicitisfaction” (my spell checker just exploded!).

2. Drew Kizer (who is the proud daddy of a new little boy!!!) writes about a well-known passage in an interesting way. Enjoy “The Principle of Christian Excellencies.”

3. A trip to Nashville added to a great spiritual thought almost assures someone of being in the roundup! Stuart Yancy writes a wonderful article simply called “Idols.”

4. We all (hopefully) study God’s Word. But, why do we study? Trey Morgan writes an interesting list called “Studying the Bible for All the Wrong Reasons.”

5. Many congregations are stuck in always thinking about their congregational history. While there’s nothing wrong with looking back every so often, Matthew Morine shares a challenge entitled “The Past or the Present.”

6. It’s becoming a tradition to share a post of a new baby. This week, our fellow blogger Dale Sadler shares a picture of his new daughter. Enjoy them here.

We hope you have a great weekend. Make sure you worship God no matter where you are on His day!
