“Greater Things” Thursday #40 : Lakeshore Heartland Services

Lebanon Road’s 2011 theme is “Greater Things.” For an introduction and video to this theme, click here. Each Thursday, we are highlighting a different area in which we are striving for greater things.

Several months ago in this series of posts, we told you about our services twice each month at a local assisted living home called Sycamores Terrace. However, that is not the only place we lead in this way.

Twice each month, we also lead a service at Lakeshore Hearland, which is near our building, too. One Wednesday morning each month, brother Harry Middleton leads a service there (or JD or I fill in for him, if he is unable to attend). This is usually a short service with just a few residents present.

Then, one Sunday afternoon each month, we have several men who rotate leading a worship service at this good facility. Several residents (usually about 15-25) attend, and there are nearly always a few family members there, as well. We lead a full worship service, and the residents are so grateful for the work that is done. It is always a joy to attend these services.

These Sunday services are at 4PM, which makes it convenient to get to our evening worship, or even a “before-worship meeting” when those are scheduled.

For “greater things” to occur, we just need more folks to attend these services to encourage the residents. There is a service at Heartland this Sunday. Why not attend and help out?
