Listen to Lectures

One of the highlights of my year is the annual Freed-Hardeman Bible Lectureship. However, there are many other lectureships throughout the brotherhood each year.

reading bibleSeveral of these are now available on iTunes, and most in their entirety! While listening isn’t the same as attending, being able to hear these lessons is a great way to learn more of God’s Word either on your computer or iPod/iPhone.

Here are a few examples. [Clicking on the links will open the blog or website for each series. You can listen to these directly from your computer or find them in iTunes. You don’t need an iPod/iPhone to hear these great lessons.]

1. Bear Valley Bible Institute (2009). Just last weekend, the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver, Colorado, held their annual lectures on the book of Joshua. I have been listening to these lectures this week, and they are excellent! Make sure you hear Michael Shepherd’s lecture on “I Will Not Leave You or Forsake You.” [iTunes, search: “BVBID Chapel”]

2. Memphis School of Preaching (2007, 2008, 2009). These lectures are all available on iTunes by searching “Memphis School of Preaching.” There are a total of 141 files available. I have listened to many from 2008, and am looking forward to starting on 2009 in the near future.

3. Freed-Hardeman University (2008). All these lectures are available from the FHU website (which opens into iTunes). The lectures dealt with the Gospel according to John. Make sure you listen to Alan Highers lecture on “The Revelation of the Lamb” (under Tuesday lectures).

What are some other lectures you’ve heard online? Where do we find them to enjoy these helpful tools?
