Perfect! (Bulletin Article for March 12)
NOTE: I do not usually post my bulletin articles that are basically announcements. However, I wanted to put this one on the blog for two reasons. First, I wanted to give more credit those the people mentioned in the article. They have earned some special recognition. Second, I wanted you, the reader, to consider my concluding thoughts about families at the end of the article.
We had a very good number of people who were present for every Sunday Bible class in the Winter quarter (December-February). With Christmas and New Year’s both falling on Lord’s days, many were away visiting family, but we trust they still took time to worship God on His day.
Those who had perfect attendance last quarter were: Scott McAlpine, Sandra Burleson, Kay Tedford, Daniel Burleson, Wyn McAlpine, Chance Fortenberry, Dylan Burleson, Christopher Pickard, Danny Tedford, Kelton Tedford, Bradley Tedford, Derek Crump, Tim Overton, Heather Fortenberry, Cristina Knight, Neal Cook, Teena Goar, Becky Terry, David Albright, Andy Kizer, Will Romine, Christe Lee Goar, Brenda Cook, Jean Dodd, Mary Lou Goddard, Susie Reynolds, Ara Lou Burleson, Gail Coan, Betty Dobbs, Bobbie Hatton, Betty Hughes, Ethelene Teas, Mona Whitt, Buster Burleson, Larry Burleson, Harold Coan, Elmer Dodd, Hester Bowley, Brian Burleson, Don Burleson, Lois Burleson, Martha Burleson, Robert Dykes, Roland Floyd, James Gaskin, Morris Hatton, Denvil Jones, Tommie Keenum, Mary Mays, James McCreless, L.V. Sartin, Veda West, D.O. Wiley and Doris Wiley.
In total 54 individuals at 9th Avenue were here for all Sunday Bible classes last quarter. That equals about 30%, which is a good percentage. As I always say, though, we can do better!
When Bobbie Hatton handed me this list, she and I talked about how many families had perfect attendance. It should not amaze us, though. What better thing could a family do together than come to worship and Bible class? While each member of the family might be in a different class, the family is still learning about God’s Word. Brothers and sisters, there is nothing better than that!
Our new Bible school quarter is underway. You may have missed the first Sunday, but you can still come to a class and join in the study of God’s Word. You will not be disappointed! Our teachers do a great job preparing and presenting lessons. They want to make sure to teach you what God said and what that should mean in your life today.
Make sure you are coming to a Bible class. Start this Sunday!
